Unanimously elected by the Board of Directors on August 1, 2020, to replace retiring CEO Arthur Thompson, Mr. Hahn has been an employee of The John Birch Society since May 2007. Originally hired as Public Relations Manager, he was responsible for many areas of communication before being promoted to various positions throughout the years, including Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer.

Working in the publishing industry as a publicist helped hone his outreach skills, especially through growing and strengthening author, media, and consumer relations.

He credits the foundation of his constitutional views from growing up on one of Wisconsin’s largest cranberry marshes where work ethic, responsibility, independence, and land stewardship values were thoroughly learned through repeated practice.

He and his wife live in rural Wisconsin with their four children and enjoy serving as Sunday School teachers in their church.

He looks forward to working with you in the pursuit of less government, more responsibility, and–with God’s help–a better world.

After college, she was a professional model and dancer until she started having children. Once her oldest was three, she began educating him. They have all gone to Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, California; the first five have graduated and the youngest is a sophomore.

During her years of homeschooling she often taught classes to other homeschooled students – sometimes art, sometimes sciences, sometimes dance, and of course economics. She also produced and directed plays. She still fixes the hair for the actors in a Shakespearean group at a small private school.

Through all her years of child-rearing, she never stopped reading and listening to works on economics and our government in general. Her other interest going back 40 years is studying the Middle Ages. Thirteen years ago she was asked to teach economics to a home school group and currently has about 60 online students all over the country in Government/Economics and Medieval History. In the last few years, she says she has finally gotten her act together and has taken it on the road. She has spoken to Republican clubs, other patriotic groups and in private homes mostly on the Federal Reserve and inflation. She has more speeches lined up.

She loves to share her passion by teaching and speaking.

Dave joined the Society in 1965 and in 1969, he left the business world to serve for eight years as a John Birch Society Coordinator in Utah. He is one of a very few men who have ever been appointed to the JBS National Council after having served as a Field Coordinator.

As one of his varied efforts to alert fellow Americans, Dave has, since 1989, chaired the semi-annual meeting of the Newquist Group in Salt Lake City. At these gatherings named after Jerreld Newquist, author of the widely celebrated book Prophets, Principles and National Survival, concerned patriots have heard important messages from an array of patriotic authorities that has always included leaders of the John Birch Society.

Married in 1968 to Laurel Cook (who had joined the Society in 1967), the Jorgensens are proudly grateful for their six sons, two daughters, and 15 grandchildren – with more to come. Blessed with principled children, Dave and Laurel believe it is increasingly obvious that if we do not teach our children our values, someone else will teach them theirs.

A determined patriot, Dave laments the lack of knowledge about our nation‘s unique roots among fellow citizens and, even more, about America‘s enemies who seek to destroy our nation. He is determined to continue his many efforts to spread the JBS message of hope to fellow Americans.
