URGENT: Members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly are trying to pass several extreme gun-control bills. A well-armed populace is essential to preserving liberty, and tyrants in Pennsylvania hope to deprive us of this important, God-given right.
The following bills — all of which have been introduced in the House — contain draconian provisions aimed squarely at gun owners and the general population. It is imperative that Pennsylvania lawmakers oppose and reject these bills:
- House Bill No. 335 (HB 335) would ban bump stocks from usage.
- House Bill No. 336 (HB 336) would severely restrict what kinds of guns one can use. The AR-15, among other weapons, would be banned.
- House Bill No. 483 (HB 483) would establish a gun violence task force in several counties. This task force would investigate whether people should be allowed to own guns.
- House Bill No. 777 (HB 777) would ban kits allowing someone to assemble a gun at home (so-called “ghost guns”).
- House Bill No. 1157 (HB 1157) would allow guns to be taken away from people accused of having mental-health issues.
- House Bill No. 1190 (HB 1190) would disallow the home printing of parts for guns, and establish strict penalties for anyone who does so.
- House Bill No. 1859 (HB 1859) would make it harder to keep your gun license if you have disabilities.
HB 335, HB 336, HB 777, HB 1157, and HB 1190 have all been passed by the House Judiciary Committee. They are expected to be brought to the House floor for a vote soon.
Regardless of the specific proposals, they are unconstitutional and only amount to advancing the Left’s civilian-disarmament schemes. For an illustration of its ultimate goal, one only needs to look at Canada, which is in the process of totally outlawing firearms.
Red flag laws have repeatedly taken guns away from individuals who were perfectly mentally capable. These measures are only the first step towards taking more control over civilian life.
The ability of a person to defend him- or herself is a fundamental God-given right. Stripping individuals of this right would make them utterly dependent upon the government for their very lives and allow it to strip them of other rights without fear of reprisal.
It is essential that we maintain the right to self-defense, as it allows us to protect our other God-given rights. Contact your state representative and senator, and urge them to oppose HB 335, HB 336, HB 483, HB 777, HB 1157, HB 1190, HB 1859, and to instead defend the right to self-defense.
