Members of the Maine Legislature are seeking to enact legislation that would push back against forced vaccinations by restoring students’ and health workers’ ability to receive religious and philosophical exemptions to vaccination requirements.
House Paper 26 (HP 26) is sponsored by Representative Gary Drinkwater (R-Milford) and cosponsored by Representative Chad Perkins (R-Dover-Foxcroft).
In enacted, HP 26 would repeal a 2019 law that ended religious and philosophical exemptions for certain Mainers, thus restoring those exemptions. These exemptions would apply to students in schools and colleges, along with employees in nursery schools and some healthcare facilities.
Forcing individuals to be injected with a vaccine against their religious or philosophical objections is a direct infringement of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Furthermore, Maine’s 2019 law was only a first step toward even more draconian government tyranny.
Since Covid-19 began, all levels of government have blatantly disregarded the Constitution and imposed a wide range of unprecedented and totalitarian restrictions. If freedom-loving Americans are to stop and prevent the imposition of a biomedical security state — whether now or in the future — it is imperative that citizens push back, rein in these government entities, and ensure they cease to violate our constitutional liberties.
