Start With a Plan: How We Elected Constitutional Legislators
In this presentation at the 2026 JBS Conference in Salt Lake City, Cowboy State Politics host David Iverson discusses how to elect constitutionalist state legislators. He begins by noting that in order to understand constitutional principles, we must understand their source: God. Accordingly, Iverson reminds viewers of fundamental principles, including that there is a Creator, that the truth is self-evident, that our rights come from God, and that we have a duty to defend the Constitution. After highlighting state legislators with anti-constitutional voting records, Iverson explains that to elect constitutionalist legislators, we must know our legislators' voting records — and he praises The New American's Freedom Index — be willing to get involved ourselves, vet and train our candidates, avoid complacency after winning, and relying on God.
