Regardless of the reason for killing Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, the attack was not authorized by nor consulted with Congress. In the words of Senator Rand Paul, “A war without a Congressional declaration is a recipe for feckless intermittent eruptions of violence with no clear mission for our soldiers.” This also raises the question – should we even have U.S. Embassies in volatile places like Iraq?
