Today is Constitution Day, the day we celebrate the adoption of the Constitution of the United States. Our Constitution has remained the oldest constitution in use because it was united under a system of sovereign, independent states. This week Art Thompson points out why the Founders crafted it as they did and how certain amendments, such as the 17th amendment, may have changed more than how Senators are elected. Understanding the Constitution and Bill of Rights is the first step in limiting government power and ensuring our God given rights and freedoms are secure.
