Members of the North Dakota Legislative Assembly are seeking to enact legislation protecting individuals’ property rights while pushing back against eminent domain and carbon-capture pipelines.
House Bill No. 1210 (HB 1210), House Bill No. 1295 (HB 1295), and House Bill No. 1574 (HB 1574) are sponsored by Representative SuAnn Olson (R-Baldwin) and a coalition of other representatives and senators.
If enacted, these bills would enact a moratorium on direct-air carbon-capture projects, repeal tax breaks that incentivized carbon capture, and create a cause of action for individuals who have been harmed by carbon-capture pipelines. These bills would be major steps toward protecting property rights and public safety, and pushing back against heavily subsidized “green” energy.
Despite currently having the ability to use eminent domain, carbon-capture pipelines are entirely private and will not directly benefit the public. Furthermore, some of the companies that would profit from them are foreign-based and have troubled histories.
Additionally, the carbon-capture pipelines are closely connected to the UN’s Agenda 2030 “sustainable development” scheme to eliminate private property and totally reshape society in the name of fighting “climate change.” The pipelines also are associated with serious safety concerns, and have been shown to be a poor investment.
Contact your state legislators and urge them to strongly stand up for property rights — and against Agenda 2030 — by enacting HB 1210, HB 1295, and HB 1574, and resisting efforts to water down the legislation.
Although we provide a way to easily email legislators, we know from long experience that it takes a lot more interaction with your legislators to get your point across than that provided by emails alone.
That's why we provide an easy way not only to email them, but to contact them by phone, tweet, and even video message them.
