URGENT: House Bill No. 1957 (HB 1957) and House Bill No. 26 (HB 26) are pending in the Pennsylvania General Assembly. HB 1957 has already passed the House of Representatives and is now pending in the Senate, while HB 26 is still pending in the House. HB 1957 introduced by Representative Danielle Otten (D-Chester), proposes an amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution to provide for “personal reproductive liberty”, establishing a fundamental right to abortion and related reproductive decisions.

HB 26 introduced by Representative Kristine Howard (D-Chester), repeals existing abortion restrictions, including determination of gestational age, abortion on preborn child of 24 or more weeks gestational age, infanticide, parental consent, spousal notice, informed consent, and criminal penalties, while protecting “reproductive rights.”
These bills would enshrine abortion as a constitutional right in Pennsylvania, expand access to abortion, and repeal critical protections for the preborn. By prioritizing reproductive “freedom” and “rights” over the sanctity of human life, these bills promote discriminatory policies that allow for the destruction of innocent human life.
HB 1957 and HB 26 are part of the Marxist attack on America’s fundamental moral principles that uphold the God-given right to life. The right to life is protected under the Fifth and 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.
Declaring abortion a fundamental right violates the foundational principle asserted in the Declaration of Independence “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
By replacing unalienable rights with state-sanctioned murder, these bills prioritize death over life. By rejecting these bills, legislators would uphold justice in Pennsylvania law for the preborn and protect the foundational principle that government exists to protect life, not legalize homicide.
