NATO is a UN-subservient alliance that threatens U.S. national sovereignty. It is imperative that Congress follow the advice of the Founding Fathers and withdraw the U.S. from this entangling alliance.

Please help withdraw the U.S. from NATO and all other entangling alliances by contacting your U.S. representative and senators. Inform them of the many reasons why NATO membership is detrimental to our national interest and sovereignty, and urge them to following the advice of the Founding Fathers.
Why it Matters

URGENT; ACT NOW: Support for U.S. withdrawal from NATO is gaining traction among members of Congress. On March 1, following the failed and disrespectful White House visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in which he hoped to secure support for U.S. interventionism and continued military assistance to Ukraine, U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) tweeted: “Get us out of NATO,” along with a retweet of a pie chart depicting that 70.5-percent of NATO member states spending comes from the United States.
The following day, Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) retweeted Lee’s tweet and wrote: “NATO is a Cold War relic that needs to be relegated to a talking kiosk at the Smithsonian,” which Senator Lee in-turn also retweeted. And on March 3, U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) also called for U.S. withdrawal from NATO; tweeting on X:
NATO and the UN push a globalist agenda that is America Last.
The US should not send one more dollar to these orgs & countries. NATO is pushing to drag the US into WW3 but they’re not even paying their fair share!
NO MORE! IT IS TIME FOR THE US TO WITHDRAW FROM NATO NOW!
Senator Lee and Representatives Massie and Luna are correct; the U.S. ought to get out of NATO. TAKE ACTION NOW: Contact and urge your U.S. representative and senators to fully withdraw from and terminate U.S. membership in NATO.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is a UN-subservient alliance that threatens U.S. national sovereignty. It is imperative that Congress follow the advice of the Founding Fathers and withdraw the U.S. from NATO and every other entangling alliance.
In his farewell address, President George Washington wisely wrote:
Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humor, or caprice?
It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world…
Likewise, in his first inaugural address, President Thomas Jefferson called for “peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none.” And John Quincy Adams, while serving as secretary of state under President James Monroe, famously declared of America, on July 4, 1821: “[S]he goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.”
Rather than expanding NATO, the United States should withdraw from it. The United States currently contributes about 22 percent of the NATO budget — the largest share of any NATO country, meaning that U.S. taxpayers foot a large chunk of the bill for Europe’s defense.
NATO’s Threat to National Sovereignty
NATO was originally founded in 1949 as a collective-security alliance between the United States, Canada, Denmark, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Norway, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Belgium, France, Portugal, and Italy. It was established on the basis of countering the Soviet Union and its captive communist satellite nations. The NATO military alliance is cemented in Article 5 of the founding North Atlantic Treaty, which states in part:
The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.
The United States became a member of NATO following the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty in Washington, D.C. on April 4, 1949 and it subsequent ratification by the U.S. Senate on July 21, 1949 by a vote of 82 to 13. Despite separately joining NATO, it is ultimately a “regional arrangement” under the auspices of the United Nations. Article 52, Section 1, of Chapter VIII of the UN Charter declares:
Nothing in the present Charter precludes the existence of regional arrangements or agencies for dealing with such matters relating to the maintenance of international peace and security as are appropriate for regional action provided that such arrangements or agencies and their activities are consistent with the Purposes and Principles of the United Nations. (Emphasis added).
In other words, under the charter, the UN allows its member nations to form regional arrangements so long as they are consistent with the “Purposes and Principles of the United Nations.” Furthermore, Article 53, Section 1, of Chapter VIII of the UN Charter states, “The Security Council shall, where appropriate, utilize such regional arrangements or agencies for enforcement action under its authority.”
The UN Security Council, which includes non-NATO countries like Communist China and Russia — which NATO is ostensibly designed to defend Western Europe from and is currently at odds with over Ukraine — can use regional arrangements such as NATO to enforce UN Security Council resolutions. And if that wasn’t enough, Article 54 of Chapter VIII of the UN Charter further mandates that: “The Security Council shall at all times be kept fully informed of activities undertaken or in contemplation under regional arrangements or by regional agencies for the maintenance of international peace and security.” In other words, both Russia and Communist China are kept aware of NATO’s activities.
NATO is nothing more than an armed extension of the globalist United Nations. Article 1 of the North Atlantic Treaty reaffirms NATO’s subservience to the UN, stating:
The Parties undertake, as set forth in the Charter of the United Nations, to settle any international dispute in which they may be involved by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security and justice are not endangered, and to refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations.
Ultimately, NATO serves the purposes of the United Nations. A UN Security Council resolution can authorize the use of force and use NATO as its instrument of enforcement, thereby calling American troops and forces to combat anywhere around the world without a congressional declaration of war or the consent of the American people through their elected representatives in Congress.
Likewise, Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty affirms “that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all…” This means that if, say, Montenegro or any other NATO member is attacked, it is to be regarded in the same manner as an attack against the United States.
As a result, the U.S. Armed Forces can likewise be called to action in the defense of that country. This clause also has the capability of dragging the United States into a war — possibly even a world war — as some are currently predicting regarding the U.S.-Russia stalemate over Ukraine. NATO increases the likelihood of entangling the U.S. into a regional, or world war, without even a congressional declaration of war.
Another infringement on U.S. sovereignty by NATO is its Status of Forces Agreement. U.S. servicemen and their families stationed in NATO countries are not under U.S. jurisdiction. Rather, they are subject to the courts and laws of the foreign country hosting them.
The Status of Forces Agreement of the NATO Pact places members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their civilian component under the jurisdiction of those foreign courts and laws.
Through NATO, the American taxpayer foots the bill for Europe’s defense, even risking the possibility of being dragged into war. Meanwhile, it places those American servicemen and their families in Europe under their foreign courts and laws. As for NATO itself, it is ostensibly designed to protect Europe from one of the very countries that is informed about all of its activities and that can determine whether it is used for enforcement action through the United Nations Security Council.
This is virtually analogous to stating that the main purpose of a city’s local police department is to protect its residents from a city councilman’s seat!
NATO does not serve the American people or U.S. national security. Instead, it serves the United Nations to carry out its goals of bringing about a collectivist New World Order.
The United States should heed the wisdom of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and withdraw from this permanent and entangling alliance. Rather than concerning itself with the defense and borders of Ukraine or those of a NATO member country, Congress and the White House should prioritize the United States’ own national defense and southern border with Mexico.
Tell your U.S. representative and senators to put start putting America first by pulling out of international entangling alliances such as NATO.
