TX, Houston — JBS Business & Professional Chapter Luncheon: “The Case Against the Property Tax” With Steve Oglesby
“The Case Against the Property Tax” With Steve Oglesby
Join us as Steve Oglesby, JBS field coordinator for Northeast Texas and Louisiana, makes the case that property tax isn’t just bad policy — it’s illegitimate. Drawing on Scripture, John Locke, The Federalist Papers, and Frédéric Bastiat, Steve will examine how a tax capable of taking a family’s fully paid-off home, year after year, challenges one of government’s most fundamental purposes: protecting private property.
He’ll close by examining the competing property-tax solutions that legislators are already drafting for next year’s session and explain which approach he believes offers the strongest path forward.
