For example, a provision reauthorizing the unconstitutional Undetectable Firearms Act has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ammoland.com\/2023\/07\/senate-trying-reauthorize-undetectable-firearms-act\/#axzz88VYObEEa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">added<\/a> to the Senate version of the bill. Also, Senator Chris Murphy has introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/sen-chris-murphy-targets-military-gun-owners-in-defense-bills\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">three extreme amendments<\/a> that would impose strict gun controls on service members at military bases, which would be a steppingstone toward imposing those same restrictions on all Americans.<\/strong> <strong><em><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Contact your U.S. representative (along with your two senators) and urge them to strongly oppose all gun control, including within the NDAA.<\/mark><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of Congress are seeking to pass an extreme and unconstitutional gun control legislation that would effectively nullify the Second Amendment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tragic shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 27 has given leftists another excuse to push their <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/massacre-in-nashville-leads-to-call-for-repeal-of-second-amendment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">predetermined goal<\/a> of civilian disarmament. Notably, they are conveniently <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/media-covered-everything-about-nashville-shooting-except-the-cause\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ignoring the cause<\/a> of the shooting \u2014 a radical, <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/the-link-between-transgenderism-and-violence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gender-confused<\/a> individual who allegedly had a hatred for Christians \u2014 along with broader <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/lgbtq-violence-rhetoric-ramp-up-even-as-day-of-vengeance-is-canceled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">radicalization<\/a> among \u201cLGBT\u201d individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Unfortunately, many Republican politicians are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2023\/04\/12\/tn-gov-bill-lee-caves-calls-for-legislature-to-pass-red-flag-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">caving<\/a> to leftist pressure and joining the effort to incrementally make it impossible for civilians to defend themselves.<\/strong> In Tennessee, for example, Governor Bill Lee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2023\/04\/12\/tn-gov-bill-lee-signs-executive-order-background-checks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">signed<\/a> an executive order strengthening draconian background checks while <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/tennessee-governor-pushes-for-red-flag-laws-more-gun-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">calling<\/a> on the state General Assembly to enact a \u201cred flag\u201d law. <strong><em>We must ensure that Congress doesn&#8217;t cave or restrict our God-given freedoms!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several unconstitutional gun-control bills have been introduced in Congress. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/698\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">H.R. 698<\/a>, the &#8220;Assault Weapons Ban of 2023&#8221;:<\/strong> This bill would ban the possession, sale, manufacture, and transfer of firearms erroneously classified as &#8220;assault weapons.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">H.R. 768<\/a>, the &#8220;Extreme Risk Protection Order Expansion Act of 2023&#8221;:<\/strong> This bill would implement a national &#8220;red flag&#8221; law. \u201cRed flag\u201d laws are <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/presumed-dangerous-no-guns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">particularly dangerous<\/a> as they allow the government to confiscate law-abiding Americans\u2019 firearms \u2014 without due process or even an accusation of a crime \u2014 merely because they are labeled as \u201cdangerous.\u201d This violates both the 2nd and 4th Amendments. Furthermore, \u201cred flag\u201d laws <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2023\/04\/02\/hawkins-christian-school-attack-exposes-false-hope-of-red-flag-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wouldn\u2019t even have prevented<\/a> the Nashville shooting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/715\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">H.R. 715<\/a>, the &#8220;Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2023&#8221;:<\/strong> This bill would enact draconian federal background checks for firearm transfers between ordinary American citizens. Expanded background checks will result in citizens needing the government\u2019s permission to own or purchase a firearm \u2014 violating the Second Amendment \u2014 and it also would <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/universal-background-checks-require-gun-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inevitably<\/a> result in a <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/background-checks-open-door-to-national-gun-registry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">national gun registry<\/a>. Such a registry would enable the government to <a href=\"https:\/\/thenewamerican.com\/new-bill-in-congress-essentially-nullifies-the-second-amendment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">easily confiscate<\/a> people\u2019s weapons at a future date, similar to what actually happened in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americas1stfreedom.org\/articles\/2016\/1\/11\/the-catastrophic-consequences-of-gun-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">other countries<\/a> like Australia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/625\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">H.R. 625<\/a>, the &#8220;Keep Americans Safe Act&#8221;:<\/strong> This bill would limit magazines to 15 rounds of ammunition or less \u2014 this bill would <em>not<\/em> &#8220;keep Americans safe.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/660\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">H.R. 660<\/a>, &#8220;Ethan&#8217;s Law&#8221;:<\/strong> This bill would require Americans to store their firearms in a certain way inside their own homes \u2014 a major violation of privacy \u2014 if a minor is present. Violating the law would lead to criminal penalties, including the seizure and forfeiture of the firearm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/2392\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">H.R. 2392<\/a>, the &#8220;Pause for Gun Safety Act&#8221;:<\/strong> This bill would mandate a national, seven-day waiting period for firearm transfers, another unconstitutional intrusion upon the right of self-defense.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/2403?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">H.R. 2403<\/a>, the &#8220;Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2023&#8221;:<\/strong> This bill would require a nationwide background check period of at least 10 days for firearm purchases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of the specific proposals being pushed in Congress, they are unconstitutional and only amount to advancing the Left\u2019s civilian-disarmament schemes. For an illustration of its ultimate goal, one only needs to look at Canada, which is in the process of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/05\/31\/trudeau-introduces-bill-to-stop-purchase-and-sale-of-handguns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">totally outlawing firearms<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ability of a person to defend him- or herself is a fundamental God-given right. Stripping individuals of this right would make them utterly dependent upon the government for their very lives and allow it to strip them of other rights without fear of reprisal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">It is imperative that we protect and defend the Second Amendment. Thus, urge your U.S. representative and senators to oppose H.R. 698, H.R. 768, H.R. 715, H.R. 625, H.R. 660, H.R. 2392, H.R. 2403, and any other legislation that infringes upon the God-given right to self-defense.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":37614,"featured_media":143084,"menu_order":0,"template":"","tags":[13310,13311],"alerts":[13319],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is
