n\nGeneral Information:\nPurpose: The purpose of the Robert Welch book clu
b is to give participants an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of
the wisdom of our founder and the philosophy of The John Birch Society. M
embers of the book club will become more effective in promulgating the cau
se of Americanism. They will gain a better working knowledge of constituti
onal originalism\, obtain a proper historical perspective\, and gain an ac
tive working knowledge of The John Birch Society and its goals.\n\nObjecti
ve: The goal of the book club is not to supplant the activities of JBS mem
bers in the completion of their monthly duties\, in fact the book club’s
hope is to augment and draw attention to The John Birch Society’s weekl
y and monthly activities as these are born out of the works of Robert Welc
 h. In less than a year\, members will have systematically completed the ma
jority of our founder's published works.\n\nExpectations: Members of the b
ook club should try to keep up with the assignments as they are given. We
will attempt to read at a pace that suits our current readers. While those
with handicaps may wish to listen to the audio versions of these presenta
tions\, this privilege is reserved for those with a true reading disabilit
 y. Reading books will be the requirement for all able-bodied participants\
, as reading is the greatest means of gaining permanent knowledge. \n\nFor
mality: Classes will be informal\, and the leader will serve only as a gui
de and moderator\, who uses small prompts that will be given to ensure the
class stays focused on the material having been read that week.\n\nTime a
nd Place: Classes will be held Sunday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. via Zoom.
Upon registration\, you will receive the initial assignment along with a Z
oom link. Registrants must obtain the current book (hard copy or PDF) at l
east one week before class starts in order to read the assigned pages befo
re attending the Zoom meeting. We will not meet on holiday weekends.
