ns: Contact Matthew Rhodes at (207) 391-0970 or email RhodesMatthew431@gma
il.com.\n\nGeneral Information:\nPurpose: The purpose of the JBS Concord C
hapter Book Club is to give participants an opportunity to gain a deeper u
nderstanding of the wisdom of our founder and the philosophy of The John B
irch Society. Members of the book club will become more effective in pro
mulgating the cause of Americanism. They will gain a better working knowle
dge of constitutional originalism\, obtain a proper historical perspectiv
e\, and gain an active working knowledge of The John Birch Society and its
goals.\n\nObjective: The goal of the book club is not to supplant the act
ivities of JBS members in the completion of their monthly duties. In fact\
, the book club’s hope is to augment and draw attention to The John Birc
h Society’s weekly and monthly activities\, since they are born out of t
he works of Robert Welch. In less than a year\, members will have systemat
ically completed the majority of our founder’s published works.\n\nExpec
tations: Members of the book club should try to keep up with the assignmen
ts as they are given. We will attempt to read at a pace that suits our cur
rent readers. While some with handicaps may wish to listen to the audio ve
rsions of these presentations\, this privilege is reserved for those with
a true reading disability. Reading books will be the requirement for all a
ble-bodied participants\, as reading is the greatest means of gaining perm
anent knowledge.\n\nFormality: Classes will be informal\, and the leader w
ill serve only as a guide and moderator\, who uses small prompts that will
be given to ensure the class stays focused on the material having been re
ad that week.\n\nTime and Place: Classes will be held Thursday evenings fr
om 6pm to 7pm\, via Zoom. Upon registration\, you will receive the initial
assignment along with a Zoom link. Registrants must obtain the current bo
ok (hard copy or PDF) at least one week before class starts in order to re
ad the assigned pages before attending the Zoom meeting. We will not meet
 on holiday weekends.
