Only Terrorists Are Being Spied On? PDF Print E-mail

Do you remember how many times the Bush administration repeatedly assured us that the government was only listening in on the conversations of terrorists?

If the government is, according to some whistleblowers, listening in on the private conversations of military personnel, what are they not telling us?

What will we find out about next?

Boardroom meetings of corporations, the recordings of which fetch a handsome price by competitors interested in their competition's next move? Compromising criminal investigations involving politically powerful people who can find out names of loved ones to lean on really hard in order to see the investigations go away?

The possibilities are endless.

So, the next time you have a discussion with an apologist about these unconstitutional policies, and you are reassured that if "you're not doing anything wrong, you've got nothing to worry about, right?" kindly inform the rationalizer of government power abuse that status of guilt is irrelevant.

And the million U.S. citizens currently on the terrorist watch list? Are they all terrorists, too?
