The Hydra, the Greek mythological creature, had nine heads and is usually depicted as a dragon. It had fatally poisonous breath and when one head was severed, two grew in its place; however, its central head was immortal.
We had no idea that the ancient Greeks had socialized medicine, for surely this is an analogy of such a system.
We are witnessing the condition that while we cut off one aspect of the health plan, two new ones rear up. And, the idea of health care given to us by government seems an invincible concept, akin to the Hydra’s central head. It is not only pushed by the Democrats, but the idea that we “need something” is pushed by the Republicans. This makes the current health care “reform” effort, like the Hydra, rather difficult to stop.
And one has to say that while the whole package stinks today it will have a fatal breath if passed tomorrow.
As we read and become more aware of what is in the over 1,000-page bill, we discover why Congressman Conyers doesn’t want us to read it. He has been captured on video stating this outrageous idea. And what we see is total control over people’s lives, from birth to an encouraged death.
One has to be adept at extending the lines, noting the ramifications of what is being proposed as “health care.” And what is being proposed reads a lot like euthanasia for the elderly and the federal government becoming Big Nanny to young people having children.
From the newly born to the elderly, the healthcare package can be called “The Full Employment for Sociologists, Psychiatrists, and Counselors Act.”
If the bill is ever enacted into law, we would recommend that all students immediately change their majors. Employment in the private sector will diminish due to the cost factors created by government and the taxes that will be required as a result of this bill, and the personnel needed to carry out all of its provisions will ultimately range in the hundreds of thousands if not a few million.
This may seem to be an exaggeration, but just think of the number of counselors that it will take to perform the mandatory counseling of all over 65 about living wills and death with dignity, once every five years unless they are ill, and every year if they are ill. We can’t have useless eaters you know. (Section 1233)
With regard to births, how many will it take to counsel all young couples about the coming event? Or visit their homes after the event to see that the young couple has the proper attitude, training, and facilities to raise the child? It’s all voluntary you know, even when they show up at your doorstep. (Section 1904) How many will it take just to register the fact that there is a pregnancy and get them into the system for counseling? Does anyone hear the one-child-per-family song? Oh, I forgot. It hasn’t been translated from the Chinese yet.
The same people who have advocated socialized medicine over the years are also many of those who have proposed only allowing people to have one child per family in the name of population control. It is all part of the fine print in the package being sold today as the “environmental agenda.”
Well, don’t worry, at least not for now ― there are those in Congress who will take out some of the really bad items today, and leave us with the rest of the Hydra growing back its heads tomorrow. This is the standard ploy of the Republican “leadership.” We have heard many Republicans say that we “need something” at their town hall meetings, meaning that they are willing to make an accommodation with the Democrats in foisting some form of nationalized health care off on the American people.
Have they forgotten that have been giving us something all along that has created the mess we see today? The reason health care is so expensive is directly attributable to government interference and regulation over the private sector now. It is also the reason many doctors opt out of caring for those on Medicare. Plus, it is not simply the remuneration, it is the fact that many procedures demanded today by physicians and surgeons for treatment and cure are denied use or payment by the federal medicare bureaucracy, a sign of things to come.
Let us not forget that those who are proposing this bill are more than willing to admit that it is only one more step toward total socialization of medicine and that the end they have in mind is complete socialized (socialist) medicine.
Just as the Hydra had to be killed by Hercules as part of his 12 Labors, we have to kill socialized medicine as part of a list of other unconstitutional socialist programs in the federal government that will do us just as much harm in the long run as their tentacles grow and ultimately coil about, and enslave us.
Whether these people really mean to rule us or not, reading the health care legislation should settle any doubt.
