University of Wisconsin Health System Enters Abortion Arena PDF  | Print |  E-mail

When Madison Abortion Clinic’s Dr. Dennis Christensen, a noted second trimester abortionist, retired in December, the University of Wisconsin Health Care System immediately but quietly made plans to take up where Christensen left off.

Fetus ImageThe University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, the academic medical center for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, is planning a joint venture with Meriter Hospital, which describes itself as "a major teaching affiliate of the University of Wisconsin," at their mutually owned Madison Surgery Center near Meriter, in order to corner the market in the dismembering and murder of the unborn.

Planned Parenthood has taken over Christensen’s clinic, but doesn’t perform the later term abortions, limiting themselves to killing younger babies in the womb up to 18 weeks gestation. Planned Parenthood sends the second- and third-trimester abortion prospects to their Milwaukee clinic.

It takes a bit more “expertise” to end the life of an almost fully formed baby whose brain functions and limbs move, having grown in the womb for up to 22 weeks. Dilation and evacuation methods are more brutal and can cause serious bleeding and even death in the mothers, while the babies sometimes have to have their limbs severed from their bodies, and their skulls crushed.

Christensen admitted in 2001 that he had already aborted between 80,000 and 100,000 preborn babies. When asked about the babies by a Wisconsin State Journal reporter in 2001, he said, “The face looks like what it is, the human fetus. You can talk yourself into putting whatever value you want on it.”

After performing two abortions the day the reporter visited him, he callously picked up a little dismembered foot, and measured it saying, “Thirteen millimeters which is consistent with 12 weeks of actual pregnancy.” Then, he held a tiny head in his hand and commented that the brain tissue would be sent to the National Institutes of Health for research.

This admission ties in with University of Wisconsin researchers Ian Duncan, Su-Chen Zhang, Hans Sollinger, and Debra Hullett’s claim that experiments on “fresh fetal brains and pancreases from second-trimester abortions” that were obtained from Dennis Christensen’s victims in Madison, were performed by UWHC researchers.

The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF), a Christian group that advocates for religious freedom, blew the whistle on UW Health’s abortion clinic plans when an employee of the Madison Surgery Center contacted them about possibly being coerced into participating in abortions, either directly or indirectly. Of course, this would be a violation of both federal and state laws — pro-life medical students and staff have to be allowed to opt out of such procedures per their moral objections. UW Health spokesman Lisa Brunette said, however, that employees who object would be able to opt out of abortion related work.

In a letter to UW offcials, ADF argued: "Many ... employees believe that turning their workplace into an abortion facility will severely upset regular patients, disrupt the respected surgical practice that currently occurs there, decimate employee morale, require burdensome policy changes and compel direct or indirect staff participation in the dismemberment of these viable and near-viable pre-born infants,"

The convenience of having free fetal organs detached from bodies, all rinsed off and ready to experiment on might also be seen as a great boon to huge research centers, those akin to the ones operating under UW Health. According to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal, Brunette admitted that “tissue” from the abortions could be used by UW researchers, after a faculty review — which will pass with flying colors, you can be sure.

The ADF has sent a letter to UW officials condemning all aspects of the proposed UW abortion providing and training scheme. They are looking at a possible legal challenge at this time.

Pro-Life Wisconsin has called the scheme “morally reprehensible” and “potentially illegal,” and vows to educate the public with updated information, help to keep the pressure on UW Health officials, and protest outside the clinic should UW Health proceed with the plan.

That can't happen unless the Madison Surgery Center's aboard gives its approval. That could happen yet this month — if public outrage doesn't stop this unnecessary attempt to expand the baby killing industry.

RE: Abortion and euthanasia are sinful as it takes away life and death power of God
Roe versus Wade and Margeret Sanger were not God fearing as they attempted to make Man superior to his maker God. Nowhere in the Bible or in the Constitution are abortion and euthanasia mentioned as the Nazis and Communists as well as Socialists have practiced this gruesome practice. My late RADM father is a member of Judge Roy Moore's Ten Commandments organization as the FDR and LBJ Democrats sinned against our country and the devil's number had been applied to The New York Times for its anti-Christian and anti-American reporting. Communists do free love, promiscuity, abortion, totalitarianism and everything that is the opposited of what our Founding Fathers had set for us. BGen Peter F. Steele, USMC [Ret]

Pro Life Supreme Court
I kept hearing from Bush II, ( "W" ), supporters that we needed to vote for him so that he would fill the Supreme Court with strict "Constructionists" who would end the Roe V Wade decision. It's been 8 long years and the babies are still being brutally murdered and now, according to this article, their body parts are being sold like pieces of meat at a slaughter house!

Dr. Christensen can start by aborting himself. The reason, I just talked myself out of placing any value on his despicable life. Can’t you see the irony?
