Is there such a thing as the Sheriff, or a bunch of sheriff's going to the white house and taking the all of them out?  From what I understand, the sheriff has more power than even the president when it comes to obeying the constitution.. I mean protecting and defending America from all foreign and domestic enemies.

What would stop them from calling on a possie to help them do just that?  We should probably be checking on Pelosi and Reid to see if they are foreign born also.

Personally I haven't heard what you mentioned.  I'm not sure I am going to answer your questions but here's my feedback for what it's worth.

There is an organization called
Oath Keepers but it has to do with military personnel.

"
Oath Keeper Sheriff Richard Mack"

7:37  Sheriff Richard Mack interview after Oath Keepers muster on Lexington Green, April 19,2009. Mack touches on the
encroachments on the 10th Amendment and a sheriff's oath of office and a sheriff's power as the ultimate authority in his county.

As to the powers of a sheriff, this is a good article:

The Man Behind The Sheriff's Badge
http://www.newswithviews.com/brownfield/brownfield56.htm
December 28, 2006

"The sheriff is the only law enforcement official with the authority to summon the power of the county. The sheriff has the right, granted by Posse Comitatus, to assemble a militia or posse, and the power to deputize citizens and require them to assist in the keeping of the peace and the enforcement of laws.

The sheriff represents the power of the people; he does not represent the power of the state. When it comes to keeping the peace no one's authority exceeds that of the sheriff. The sheriff of that county not only had the authority; he had the absolute obligation to intercede to protect the constitutional rights of the owner of this farm."

...

In 2009, many folks in INDIANA lobbied against The Kernan-Shepard Commission Report.  It was a bipartisan state effort to centralize power, or streamline government as they put it.  (Our capital city already has "unigov.")  Part of commission's findings recommended that the sheriffs and coroners be appointed instead of elected and "transfer the responsibility for administering the duties of the sheriff, coroner and other county positioins to a single county executive."

I mention coroner because in Indiana they can perform the sheriff's duties in cases in which the sheriff (1) is interested or incapacitated from serving; and (2) has no chief deputy who may perform his duties. (IC
36-2-14-4)  And a coroner can arrest the sheriff. (IC 36-2-14-5)

Pretty powerful stuff!  And the leaders of our state wanted to appoint these positions.  Thankfully the word got out because we were networked in our state.  The legislation failed.

Sheriff Mack is definitely one of the good guys.  A case in point as to why some of the bad guys would try to sneak through changing a sheriff to an appointed (i.e. fully controlled) position.

I think what Fr33dom might also have been referring to is the Committees of Saftey.  These are the guys who want to be organized and ready should our central government fall apart.  The movement is based on the Committees of Saftey that had various levels of success filling the vacuum of authority left in those areas the King could no longer exercise power in during the War of Independence.

I'm not sure Washington D.C. has a Sherriff.

Washington, D.C. (pronounced /ˈwɒʃɪŋtən ˌdiːˈsiː/), formally the District of Columbia and commonly referred to as Washington, the District, or simply D.C., is the capital of the United States, founded on July 16, 1790. The City of Washington was originally a separate municipality within the Territory of Columbia until an act of Congress in 1871 effectively merged the City and the Territory into a single entity called the District of Columbia. It is for this reason that the city, while legally named the District of Columbia, is known as Washington, D.C. The city is located on the north bank of the Potomac River and is bordered by the states of Virginia to the southwest and Maryland to the other sides. The District has a resident population of 591,833; however, because of commuters from the surrounding suburbs, its population rises to over one million during the workweek. The Washington Metropolitan Area, of which the District is a part, has a population of 5.3 million, the ninth-largest metropolitan area in the country.

It is my belief a Sheriff is only an Authority figure within the County of his election.
Since this is  the case, a Sherriff from another jurastiction wouldn't be able to act outside his area of authority.

This may be a reason why, Statehood for this area always gets rejected.

In regards to the Sheriff of any single county accross these United States, the corner is the only person who can arrest the sheriff. That is just how powerful the Sheriff is in his county.
